How Tuff-Mark Preformed Thermoplastic Works

Tuff-Mark arrows are designed for durability and visibility, with glass beads embedded both on the surface and throughout the material. As the marking wears down, new beads are exposed, maintaining strong retroreflectivity over time. When heated, the thermoplastic bonds with the pavement, forming a tough, long-lasting surface. This fusion improves resistance to traffic wear. Compared to painted markings, Tuff-Mark thermoplastic lasts 8–10 times longer, reducing the need for frequent reapplications.
